About Orthodontia
Orthodontia exists only to provide qualified clinician with up-to-date and in-depth knowledge in orthodontics. We do this by providing free resources for dentists to use as they wish, running high quality small group courses, and tailoring bespoke mentoring for individuals.
We teach in small groups to ensure engagement and interaction is maximised, and there are plentiful opportunities to ask questions relevant to your cases and your clinical practice.
Our orthodontic courses are designed for dentists who wish to provide high quality, ethical orthodontic treatment using an enhanced skill set.
Our name & our Mission
Our name simply means 'orthodontics'. We chose it to reflect exactly what we are about... all things ortho for dentists. We want to show that orthodontics is more than just clear aligners, quick treatment or purely cosmetic teeth straightening. We want to give dentists a profound and deep understanding of orthodontic principles to enable excellent care no matter what brand or type of appliance they use.
Our mission is to raise the standard of orthodontic teaching for qualified dentists.

High Quality Teaching
It is our belief that any dentist should be able to benefit from orthodontic education. We wish to return orthodontic teaching a more pure state, giving you a set of skills that you can take away to implement in your clinical work the very next day. This is delivered through an engaging blend of theory and practical skill development to ensure you maximise your learning at all stages.
Ortho Skills are Generalisable
The orthodontic knowledge and skills we give you will be applicable to any orthodontic case, irrespective of the type of malocclusion or type of appliance you prefer to use. We wish to remove the link between particular systems/brands and your skills, enabling you to work freely and apply knowledge to any patient. Its not just limited to orthodontics either... the value of our courses also lies in linking orthodontics to restorative treatment, with concepts like occlusion and guidance being de-mystified.
Ethical Focus
Our courses deliver real orthodontic knowledge in a controlled way. We don't believe that anything and everything can be learnt overnight. Our aim is to guide on your long term development and skill enhancement, and we are honest and ethical about what we teach you. Our belief is that if you learn in this way, you will treat your patients with the same authenticity and ethic. Its a win win.
Our Educational Lead
Hesham Ali
Specialist & Consultant Orthodontist
Hesham teaches on the MSc in Orthodontics as Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Manchester, as well as delivering lectures to undergraduate dental students.
He has lectured at a national level with the British Orthodontic Society, Dentinal Tubules and the Orthodontic Nurses Group, whilst also hosting several online webinars for GDPs.
He works in a prestigious private practice and as a hospital consultant, treating everything from simple alignment to complex malocclusions and facial deformity using a multi-disciplinary approach. He is experienced in the use of fixed appliances, aligners, and lingual fixed appliances.
Hesham has an enthusiasm for research and academic writing, and is published in notable orthodontic journals.
